Egyptian Dystopias of the 21st Century

During the first two decades of 21st century an increasing amount narratives termed as Arabic dystopian fiction appeared on literary scene, with a greater part authored by Egyptian writers. However, what characterises/marks work dystopia? This paper investigates nature selection works within frame narrative tradition. The article begins introducing features traditional dystopias they will be used in analysis. It then gives brief overview development genre literature. discussion that follows highlights common elements and identifies specific themes six novels selected for analysis, thereby highlighting differences similarities between them Western dystopias. calls categorisation takes into consideration social, political, historical cultural factors general, particular, field.
